A Great Light

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

 

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light…” Isaiah 9:2

 

            I wonder what it was like walking through days like those.   I wonder what it would have been like living in those days where people were depicted as walking in darkness.  I wonder if it would be anything like today, because as I sit here this morning that’s all I can see outside my upstairs windows—darkness.  (more…)

Thanksgiving 2009

Gone Too Soon

Another Defining Moment

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

The air is quiet this morning, reflected in the soft folds of our American Flag now posted on our home hanging still—almost preparing for something special.  As a Nation, our thanks will be expressed two days from today when we will pause to honor those who have served to defend our country in the Armed Forces of the United States of America—our veterans. So Very Simple

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

 

“I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.”

Here’s the picture:  thirty-six degrees outside under a morning covering of crisp clear blue skies, a precious little five-year-old sound asleep after a night on the fold-out couch in the living room of what our two Granddaughters call the “Mountain House” in North Carolina. 

That was a few moments ago, and our younger Granddaughter, Ellie Kate, is stirring but still asleep on the fold-out not ten feet away from me as I sit here to share with you.  (more…)
