Embracing Abundance

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10 (NKJV)

By the time he called early this morning, he himself had probably been up for a couple of hours.  For more than thirty-five years he has been an encourager of mine and many others, and an example of what God calls us to do with the life He gave us, for ourselves and for others.

At age seventy-seven, and after having doctors tend to some heart issues (more…)

Splendid

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.  Fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.  The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Cure for Discouragement

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

I Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)

“See, the Lord your God has given you the land.  Go up and take possession of it as the Lord, the God of your fathers, told you.  Do not be afraid:  do not be discouraged.”

Deuteronomy 1: 21 (NIV)

It’s another beautiful morning outside, as it has been for the past few days, even though it’s been a bit overcast—inside.  I think most of you know me well enough to know that I try to shoot straight with you.  (more…)

To Remember Above All

Just some early morning thoughts from me to you…

“O beautiful for patriot dream, that sees beyond the years,

Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears!

America!  America!  God shed His grace on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood,

From sea to shining sea!

America the Beautiful

I can always see it from my where I sit at the desk in my upstairs office.  The inscription printed below the picture of the twin towers which once stood as the World Trade Center, (more…)
